ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Fisherfolk leading the recovery

Dapdap Rising is helping restore the Bantigue Marine Sanctuary through fisherfolk-led rehabilitation, reef restoration, and community-based conservation.

Building on the CORAL Initiative launched in 2024, the project brings together fisherfolk, women, youth, and local leaders to strengthen sanctuary governance, rehabilitate coral and mangrove areas, and expand citizen-science monitoring through the Alwan Method.

At its core, the project recognizes coastal communities not just as beneficiaries of conservation — but as co-creators of the solutions.
