Enterprise led by women
In Raksirang Rural Municipality, Nepal, the Chepang community faces growing environmental and economic challenges, including deforestation, soil degradation, landslides, declining agricultural productivity, and limited access to education, markets, and livelihood opportunities.
The Chepang Women Eco-entrepreneurs project is equipping women with the tools, training, and support to become community leaders, eco-entrepreneurs, and mentors.
Through leadership development, climate resilience training, cooperative enterprise, and peer-to-peer learning, the project aims to strengthen sustainable livelihoods while restoring degraded environments and expanding opportunities for women.
In the past months, Bighnaharta Nepal conducted community consultations, launched an open call for participants, and shortlisted 10 women who will move forward into the project’s next phase of training and cooperative formation.
