ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Hives that sustain households

Rosa Care Organisation is supporting women and youth in Chirasauta Village to develop a community-led beekeeping and honey processing enterprise.

Through technical training, mentorship, and the establishment of communal apiaries, participants are gaining the skills needed to manage beehives, harvest honey, and build sustainable businesses.

This quarter, the team secured land for the apiary, engaged village leaders, introduced a beekeeping facilitator, and completed the first training sessions on bee ecology, environmental stewardship, and apiary management.

Key Strategic Priorities

Train & equip

Train 10–15 youth and women in basic beekeeping, honey harvesting, and processing techniques.

Build the apiaries

Establish 5 communal apiaries with 10 beehives each.

Produce & sustain

Produce and process a minimum of 100kg of honey in the first year for local sale, under a sustainable, community-led business model built for future expansion.

The partnership with Communities for Nature and the support of the Green Spark Fund has given Rosa Care more than just funding. It has helped us turn a locally driven idea into practical action, such as our Chirasauta Beekeeping Project, while giving our team the support and confidence needed to strengthen our community work. Through this collaboration, we have been able to reach more people, learn from others, and build something meaningful that we hope will continue long beyond the project itself.
